Product Information


3 cups flour, divided
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons salt, divided
4 eggs, divided
1 3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon pepper

Oil for frying
Butter and maple syrup for serving


Step 1
Preheat oven to 200˚F.

Step 2
Mix 2 cups flour, baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt. In another bowl, whisk 2 eggs, milk, oil, honey and vanilla. Stir liquid ingredients into dry ingredients and mix for about 1 minute. Some clumps in batter are okay, it shouldn't be perfectly smooth.

Step 3
Make waffles in waffle maker according to instructions. Put cooked waffles in oven to stay warm.

Step 4
Mix 1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon salt, paprika and black pepper in medium bowl. Whisk 2 eggs in separate bowl. One at a time, dip each sausage patty into flour to coat. Shake off excess flour and dip into egg. Allow excess egg to drip off and repeat with flour and egg. Add one final coating of flour.

Step 5
Add about 1 1/2-inches oil to skillet and heat to 350˚F. Fry sausage patties 4 at a time for about 5 minutes, until golden brown. To serve split waffles between 4 plates.

Step 6
Top each with butter. Top waffles with 2 fried sausage patties per plate. Serve with butter and maple syrup.
