Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350º F. Place sausage in skillet over medium heat, using wooden spoon to break up sausage into small marble sized pieces. Cook until brown, then let cool on paper towel lined plate until needed.
Step 2
In mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3
In another bowl, mix together eggs, sugar, melted butter, syrup, milk and vanilla extract.
Step 4
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Stir sausage into batter. Scoop batter into a lined muffin tin, filling each cup about three-quarters to the top.
Step 5
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
